Mein Heino.....fabulous!

We went to Hendersonville, NC, to the library book sale. Today was half-price day, so we bought a good bit. My favorite find of the day was this Heino album...Great Hits No. 6. I could not resist the artwork of this album cover......but should I get it....it's gonna cost me....12 1/2 cents!!!! I went for it and I don't regret it. I have owned this for only a few hours and not even played it yet, but I have received way more than my money's worth just looking at it. Then I decided to see if I could find Heino on the interwebs....of course!.......there he is on YouTube! Truthfully, I really do like his sound. It reminds me of watching The Lawrence Welk Show with my mother. Take a look at Heino in action in the video here. There are more on YouTube if you like, including a 1970's TV Christmas special which is about 23 minutes long.

  1. Okay, so I had to come check your blog, and what HEINO - first, believe it or not ... SEEN HIM LIVE. My Mother is from Germany, and is the biggest Heino fan ever!! I mock her fandom at every opportunity I can... so this is a great treat!!!

  2. Very interesting....when I found this LP I had to have it. Never imagined that I would hear from someone in NOLA that had actually SEEN Heino.

I enjoy your photos. We love NOLA and usually come down once each year. I found your blog and your pics keep my memories alive. Always something to see there.

  3. Awww.. thank you, I am very lucky to live here ... and I never forget that. It's a wonderful wonderful city. I should write more about it, but I sound like a sappy school girl when I talk about NOLA

  4. My husband has a NOLA travel blog. It is in my Blog List "If I Lived Here I'd Be Dead By Now". We were last there in May of this year. Then there is a link to his older LJ blog from 2006-2008 also.

Don't apologize for sounding like a "sappy school girl"....our friends probably get tired of us talking about NOLA but we don't care. We love it.
